In 2024, an eagle-eyed member of the Club spotted that Gatwick Community Trust was calling for funding bids from local organisations to support their operations. At the time the Club realised its projector was well past its ‘sell by date’ . The colour and sharpness of images was starting to deteriorate and not doing justice to members’ images in competitions or those of our visiting speakers. However, a replacement would be in the thousands!
We are a small, friendly Club with limited funds, so the chance to apply for funding was heaven sent. Our bid was for £1,000 which we could match fund to buy a new projector.
We are absolutely delighted that GACT was able to grant us the £1,000 and we will start our new season in September with a new projector.
