Formation
East Grinstead Camera Club began in 1955, the then chairman saying, “We want to keep everything simple so that camera enthusiasts of any kind will always feel welcome”. The club has changed over the years keeping pace with the changes in photography but that overriding principle remains the same. As well as our firm belief that photography should be fun!
Venue and Meetings
Our club programme runs over 30 weeks, starting in mid-September through to the beginning of the following May.
We meet at the Glen Vue Centre, Railway Approach, RH19 1BS on a Thursday evening, between 7.45 – 10.00pm. There is ample free parking on site.
Programme
The programme is a mixture of ‘top-notch’ guest speakers, competitions and practical evenings led by members of the club. We also enjoy a cup of tea and a good natter on these evenings, sharing experiences, issues, and ideas about photography. Please click here to find out more about what we have planned for our upcoming meetings.
Competitions
We run both print and projected digital images (PDI) competitions on various subjects. The competitions are purely voluntary but entering gives you the chance to get feedback on your work from an external judge.
The club also participates in a few external competitions as well as an annual interclub competition with other local clubs.
Photographic outings
During the ‘summer break’ the club runs a few photo walks and other activities. If you are curious about who we are and what we do, then contact the club secretary Val Jenkins egcc.secretary@btinternet.com to talk about joining one of our outings.
Social Media
Members will be invited to join our WhatsApp Group but we do have a Facebook page which all are welcome to visit.
