Despite heavy and persistent rain the 2024 May Fair went ahead on 6th May.
The East Grinstead Camera Club stand had a new look this year, with a vinyl banner featuring 12 images from Club members, a laptop running 70+ photographs on a loop and we even had a go at running a raffle. The bad weather didn’t put everyone off attending the Fair and we did get some expressions of interest in joining the Club.
Sadly the bad weather won in the end and the Fair closed early.
The Club’s stand would not happen without the work of numerous members, but particular thanks go to Dave Mansi for the loan of the gazebo, Steve Hall for the production of the vinyl banner and Chris Griffin for creating the digital photograph display and the use of a laptop on the day. Thanks also to all the members who helped out on the stand during the day with special thanks to Val Jenkins and Chris Griffin who were there throughout the day.
The May Fair is one of the few local events at which we can publicise the Club and meet potential new members. So if anyone knows of another suitable event held in the summer, please let someone on the committee know.
