At the first members’ evening of the 2024-25 Season at the East Grinstead Camera Club everyone was asked to bring along a camera, to participate in a very practical evening.
There were two photography challenges
- How to take photographs of soap bubbles so that they appear to be colourful planets from another universe. The set up involved using a strobe light and working with some unusual camera settings!
- The second was to experiment with fixed lighting and cross polarisation to create unique colourful patterns in acrylic glasses, with fizzy water and ice cubes.
It wasn’t plain sailing for everyone, and the results were variable from “ got it” to “that isn’t working for me” but there was plenty of laughter, some learning and a lot of fun.
