16/09/2021‘Fifty shades of Black’ – exploring darkness & desaturation in photography Bob Webzell ARPS EFIAPEver wondered why the judge says your PDI image is overexposed when it looked great on your monitor back home & why light and colour are not always the photographer’s friend? Bob uses a diversity of images to illustrate the powers & emotions of low light in photography and how too much colour can destroy the mood and effect you are trying to create. He may not be right, but he does make you think about your image taking and presentation for PDI competitions in particular.

02/12/2021The Art in Architecture
(ZOOM presentation)
Les Forrester
Architecture should be able to excite you, to make you think, although not entirely visual art it’s certainly not record style either, possibly a hybrid. The presentation is a mixture of mono & colour work showing interiors and exteriors of buildings from various locations around Europe giving you ideas and inspiration you can adapt within your photography. There is also a section called ‘the Edit’ showing the transition from RAW to the final image. I think Architecture should contain elements of magic, serenity and mystery.
